At Mervo sustainability is not a campaign but part of the cost and quality equation. Our goal is longer-lived products from less raw material.
Responsible timber
All timber used in our solid walnut and oak products comes from FSC® chain-of-custody suppliers. Offcuts are turned into shavings and pellets that heat the factory; 94% of production waste is recovered.
Low-emission finishes
Finishes are water-based lacquers and natural oil-wax. All products meet the E1 class for formaldehyde emissions.
Repairable design
- Bolted frames: a single part can be replaced
- Removable covers and a re-upholstery service
- A ten-year spare-parts commitment
- Take-back of packaging waste at delivery
We have cut our carbon footprint per product by 18% since 2023; the target for 2028 is 30%.
Our targets
By 2028 our targets are to have all timber FSC-certified, halve the plastic used in packaging and meet 40% of the factory's electricity from rooftop solar. We report progress every year and publish it on this page.
Certificates and audits
The FSC® chain-of-custody certificate and the ISO 9001 quality and ISO 14001 environmental management systems pass annual independent audits. Audit summaries are shared on request.
